2 Victors and a Victoria.

Last week Friday was WOW! I had a super awesome time and I cannot wait for you to hear all that I have been up to. So yeah, I was feeling guilty that I wasn't blogging as much as I used to so I decided to do a place review.

I looked up places and found two gold mines. I was going to visit Unusual cuisine and then grab an ice cream cone at Ice cream factory BUT I had forgotten to pick up batteries. Upon careful examination, only one place stood out- Ebeano Super Market. It was hard finding the required battery type as shop attenders kept misleading me and pointing out stupid isles. I was clearly exasperated when Dark Victor located me. I turned around  and found his face to be quite familiar. You see, he was drawn to me because of my pink dress and my natural hair. lol.

Together, we cruised through the isles trying to locate the battery section. Finally, when we did, we discovered they didn't have the type of batteries I needed. Turned out that we both use Nikon cameras although mine is a typical point-and-shoot camera and his' is a DSLR camera. Either way, I was thrilled to meet him. He later introduced me to his friends. Apparently, they had been together before he wandered away to find me. Yeah.

That was when I found out that there were two Victors and one Victoria. So yeah I joined them and made them 3 Vs and a J! We all sort of clicked and within minutes we were chatting like old friends. Turned out that they were waaayyy older than I am but looking at us four you would never have suspected because well, age is just a number bitches!
We then drove in Victoria's car to another supermarket still in Lekki where I picked up batteries which the Dark Victor paid for.

OMG! How rude of me! I bet I haven't properly introduced my new friends to you. Awwn.
Victoria is Victoria Pepple from Silverbird Television. Dark Victor was a contestant at Knorr Taste Quest Season 2 (He's a chef/ lifestyle photographer) and Fair Victor is a Producer and works at a radio station in Calabar. Yup! They are cool like that. LOL.

While we were in the car, in between all the carefree talk and genuine hearty laugher, I let them know I was a lifestyle blogger and foodie. Turns out Victoria is a Foodie too. So yeah afterwards Victoria decided that we should all hang out at bottles. I had read about bottles on several blogs but my challenge has always been visiting such places alone what with bars having stupid rules that applies to single girls going in alone (Story for the gods).

We got to bottles and being that it was my first time I had my camera ready for snaps. Bottles has this relaxing and artsy atmosphere that makes it the perfect place for a dinner date. If you want a reserved place for a group outing then you have found the perfect spot. Well, I love what I saw. little wonder expatriates love this place as it was filled with them.
Next, we located a table for 4 right at the middle of the restaurant. From our table I had a good view of the entire restaurant which was awesome. It was a Friday night so there was a karaoke/ live band group playing old school jams. We had barely sad down for 5 minutes when a waiter supplied us with menus. Each person had a set of two menus- one for the food and another for the drinks. We were still poring over the menus when a waiter arrived with appetizers. We were presented with a bowl of crunchy fried something that tasted like it was a corn derivative with a cold sauce to go and another shallow bowl containing groundnuts. This is what I call SERVICE. I mean you just can't walk away without buying anything after such an inviting welcome, can you?

So we were just munching our appetizers and making up our minds. Literally. Finally, we settled for a pitcher of strawberry cocktail. It was served with a wooden ladle and four cocktail glasses and straws.

In one word, the cocktail was delicious.

We were still discussing and having a good time when Dark Victor beckoned on the waiter to take our orders. Prior to that time, we had pored through the food menu and unanimously agreed that we were not hungry so we settled for quick bites. We ordered a serving of chicken tenders and a serving of prawns wrapped in bacon together with another pitcher of lemon cocktail.

What can I say? The prawns were perfect and the bacon was crispy enough to blend in with the somewhat tender nature of the prawns. It was a delight.

The chicken tenders on the other hand let me down somewhat as Victor had instructed the waiter to ensure that it was properly spiced. Well, it just felt like the regular KFC chicken tenders except it wasn't too crispy to the point that it became a struggle chewing it. Long story short, it was perfectly fried but yeah what happened to the peppers yo?

The lemon cocktail didn't taste much like lemon but it was sweet so I just kept drinking. Nobody told me it would get me tipsy. lol. In between sips, we danced and sang along to the karaoke renditions of Hello by Adele, Redemption song by Bob Marley and Stay by Rihanna.

Sometime during the course of the dancing, Light Victor paid the bills. All thirty something thousand naira. I had totally expected to split the bill but hey thanks once again Victor.

By some few minutes to eleven, we said our goodbyes and then Dark Victor got me a cab. In conclusion, I had an amazing time with Victor, Victor and Victoria and I got home safe. Thanks guys for your company.

Ps: I been telling my friends that I got to hang out with Victor, Victor and Victoria in Victoria Island. lol, I know right?
Have you ever been to bottles? What do you think about this review? Yay or Nay? Don't forget to drop your comments.

XOXO,
The Lagos Rebel <3
